Terms of use

These terms govern your use of Rovista, available at https://rovista.it. By using the service you accept these terms: if you do not agree, please do not use it. How we handle your data is described in our privacy policy and cookie policy.

The service is provided by Oatus Srl.

What Rovista does

Rovista is a search engine for second-hand items. It searches several marketplaces at once: eBay, through its official APIs, and the other marketplaces listed on the Marketplaces page, through their public web data. For Facebook Marketplace, Vestiaire Collective and Depop it only offers links that open a search directly on their sites.

For each listing we show the title, price, photo, location and link, and we send you to the original listing. Please note that:

  • we are not a party to any sale: any purchase takes place between you and the seller, on the marketplace and under the marketplace's rules;
  • we do not handle payments between buyers and sellers;
  • we do not verify sellers, items or the accuracy of listings;
  • listing data belongs to the marketplaces and the sellers and, because we cache it for a limited time, it may be out of date. Always check the original listing before you buy.

Using the service without an account and personal accounts

You can search without an account, with no limits. To protect the service and the marketplaces, we may limit automated or excessive searches coming from the same connection.

Accounts are free and optional. To create one you must be at least 14 years old and use a valid email address. Your account is personal: you may not share it or transfer it to anyone else. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what is done with your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password and contact us.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page.

Base plan

The Base plan is a monthly or yearly subscription that offers extra features, including alerts. Prices and plan contents are shown on the pricing page. [TO BE VERIFIED: VAT]

  • Who can subscribe: adults only.
  • Free trial: the first time you subscribe you get a 3-day free trial. The trial is available only once. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the first period is charged automatically.
  • Payment and renewal: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (month or year) until you cancel it.
  • Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal, which you can reach from your account page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund partial periods unless the law requires it.

Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of its conclusion without giving any reason (Article 52 of the Italian Consumer Code, Legislative Decree 206/2005).

The Base plan starts immediately, including during the free trial. By activating it, you expressly request that the service begins straight away, before the withdrawal period ends. If you withdraw after requesting immediate start, you may have to pay an amount proportionate to the service you received up to the time of withdrawal.

Alerts

Alerts re-run your saved searches periodically and tell you about new listings by email, browser push notification or Telegram. We do our best to deliver them on time, but we cannot guarantee that every new listing will be reported or that a notification will reach you before the item is sold. To prevent abuse we may apply reasonable limits on the number of alerts and how often they are checked.

Invite a friend

  • Every account has a personal invitation link. The invitation is only valid for people who create a new account within 30 days of opening the link. Inviting yourself or creating accounts to obtain rewards is not allowed.
  • The invited friend, on their first subscription and if they never had a free trial, gets a 30-day free trial instead of 3 days. All other conditions of the Base plan apply.
  • On the friend's first real payment, the person who invited them receives one month of Base: 30 days of free Base if they have no active subscription or, if they already subscribe, a credit equal to one month of their plan, deducted from the following payments. The reward cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • You receive at most one reward per friend and at most 12 rewards in 12 months. In case of abuse we may cancel rewards and suspend the account.

Acceptable use

Please use the service fairly. In particular, you may not:

  • extract data from the service using automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers or similar);
  • abuse alerts, for example by creating multiple accounts or artificial searches to get around limits;
  • decompile or reverse engineer the service's APIs or software, or use them outside the site;
  • resell or redistribute data obtained through the service;
  • use the service for unlawful purposes or in a way that harms its operation or security.

If you abuse the service or breach these terms, we may limit, suspend or close your account. Where possible we will warn you first and explain why.

Availability of the service

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or error-free.

Results depend on the marketplaces. Sources can change how their sites work or block access at any time, so we cannot guarantee that every marketplace will remain searchable through Rovista, and we may add or remove sources.

Currency conversions are for guidance only and are based on European Central Bank reference rates. The price shown in the original listing is the one that counts.

Affiliate links

We take part in the eBay Partner Network, eBay's affiliate programme. If you click a link to eBay and then make a purchase, we may earn a commission from eBay. When you click these links, eBay may set its own cookies.

Intellectual property

The names and trademarks of the marketplaces mentioned () belong to their respective owners. We use them only to show where listings come from. Apart from our participation in the eBay Partner Network, Rovista is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of these companies.

Listing texts and photos belong to the sellers or the marketplaces. The software, design and texts of Rovista belong to Oatus Srl and may not be copied or reused without permission.

Liability

Because we are not a party to any sale, we are not responsible for items, sellers, listing content or anything that happens on the marketplaces. Any problem with a purchase must be resolved with the seller or the marketplace.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for the operation of the service is limited. We never exclude or limit liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or where consumer protection law does not allow it.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. If the changes are significant and you have an account, we will notify you by email before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account. If you keep using the service after the changes take effect, the new terms will apply to you.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the court of the place where you live or are domiciled has jurisdiction over any dispute, and you keep any mandatory protections given by the law of the country where you live.

The EU online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued in July 2025. [TO BE VERIFIED] In any case, you can write to us so that we can try to find a solution together.
